Ready to answer to the accelerations of Quick Step’s star at Mons-en-Pevele, where he was in a lead group of six favourites, together with Hoste, Van Summeren, Flecha e Pozzato, after that he made difficulties to Boonen at 16 km from the finish in Carrefour de l’Arbre, where he attacked proving to be stronger than all the other riders. But in his better moment of the race, Thor was stopped by bad luck: after a corner he bumped into some spectators and crashed on the ground. A fatal fall, that let Boonen run away, followed by Pozzato. Enrico Rossi has been the true protagonist of the competition and his race has been extraordinary. Enrico , who got 8th place in the last Milano-Sanremo, after his sprint at the 64th Km, with other two sprinters had 6’40” of separation from the main group.
Enrico decided to sprint again, and his final sprint at 15 km to the arrival has been the victorious one and also the one that gave him at Anceniis arrival, 12” of advantage on the main group.
Starting from today with the first seasonal victory for Enrico Rossi, the whole team will try to keep the leader vest up to the final goal of next Friday.
