In 1976, after winding down a career as professional rider marked by the participation to seven Giro D’Italia and two Tour de France, Celestino Vercelli founded Vittoria transforming his passion and knowledge into a groundbreaking cycling footwear business following his family manufacturing tradition of leather shoemakers.

Shortly after it was founded, Vittoria become a pioneer in research and development introducing on the market the first colored cycling shoes in 1978 and in 1992 the first patent in the world of rotor closing system with nylon cables with the model Fulcrum.

1987 is the year of the first big achievements with Stephen Roche winning Giro D’Italia, Tour de France and becoming World Champion wearing Vittoria. The same year our first helmets and MTB shoes were launched.

The late 90’s saw the experimentation of carbon fiber in cycling, in 1998 Vittoria introduced her first carbon sole which became soon one of the lightest and thinnest on the market with only 3.5 mm thickness.

1998 was marked by two great victories of unparalleled importance and pride for Vittoria with Marco Pantani winning both Giro D’Italia and Tour de France wearing the popular BLITZ, a three velcro strap model styled in pink and then yellow color to celebrate his great achievements.
Few years later in 2001, Vittoria went back on the podium with Stefano Garzelli winning the 83rd edition of Giro D’Italia.

Starting in 2000, product innovation become vital in order to face the challenges of the increased competition on the market and the demand of a more captivating style footwear with advanced and precise closure systems.
In 2006 Vittoria introduced the model Unique, a 195 gr ultra-lightweight racing shoe with innovative high-tech one-piece outsole and anti-shrinking material.

In 2009 Vittoria first revolutionary micrometric cable closure system made the debut on the podium of the Tour de France with Thor Hushovd winning the sprinters Green Jersey with the model HORA.

Not only product innovation but also growth and expansion for Vittoria with the inauguration in 2011 of VITTORIA USA LLC with the mission to strengthen its market position in the United States.

In 2014 with IKON, Vittoria introduced SSP, an advanced micrometric closure system with a revolutionary new technology which uniformly wraps the foot by evenly distributing the tightening force. The new model had also a more aggressive look featuring a unique design with Microfiber Soft Touch and nano holes created with laser cutting technology.

Two years later in 2016, Vittoria started a product diversification strategy and added helmets and custom apparel to her product portfolio; at the same time clothing and accessories got a refreshed style.

VH-IKON helmet was launched and it embodied the idea of a new generation of helmets with optimal air flow protection. It featured a unique aerodynamic design, result of extensive technical analysis and wind tunnel simulations.

Continuous research and cutting-edge design led to the winning of the prestigious DESIGN & INNOVATION AWARD with the model VELAR in 2018.

As stated in the award judgment, “With VELAR, Vittoria has created an aesthetically and technically excellent road bike shoe. For an optimal fit Vittoria uses two Boa® IP1 closures in each shoe; this clever retention system wraps around your foot while reducing the pressure points, and the shoe is available in two widths. Another special technical detail is the reinforcement bars in the carbon sole, which increase stiffness while reducing the amount of material and thus the weight. The extended insole provides for arch support and can be individually adapted. It goes without saying that the Italian VELAR also scores good style points: aesthetically the highlight is the matte metallic look with glossy applications”.

The present is called REVOLVE. Shoe with an elegant racing design, it’s made with a combination of Matte Silk Microfiber fabric, Square Microfiber inserts and High Density Nylon Mesh, to make the shoe suitable for the highest level of sport. In collaboration with a group of orthopedists we have developed a specific anatomical last on which the upper is mounted. The combination of materials and structure of the shoe guarantees a sensational fit. The breathability of the Revolve is guaranteed by laser micro-perforations. The closure is defined by the Surround Fit System (SFS), in combination with the BOA® Fit System featuring the new anodized allow Dual-Dial Li2, that provides a premium finish and superior grip that is designed for a more consistent hold in all weather conditions. Sleek and low-profile, the Li2 dial is engineered for unprecedented precision and durability. In addition, the Revolve has the FCT Carbon sole, with a thickness from your foot to the pedal of only 3.5 mm. You will have the maximum of stiffness, and your power will be transferred to the pedals as you have never experienced before.

Revolve, confirming its great value, has been chosen by several professional cyclists among which the name of the Piedmontese Fabio Felline of Team Astana stands out.
